Privacy policy
Last updated: 23 July 2026
This policy explains how Local Arcade (“we”, “us”) processes personal data when you use the website, the API, and related mobile clients that connect to our service at local-arcade.com.
1. Data controller
The service is operated by Local Arcade. For any privacy request, use the contact form at /support or write to the support address configured for this service.
2. Data we process
Depending on how you use the service, we may process: a player nickname (pseudo); a client-generated device identifier (device_id) used to associate scores with a device; game scores linked to a bar and a game; approximate location (latitude/longitude) when you ask for nearby bars; technical logs (IP address, user-agent, timestamps) needed to operate and secure the service; and the content of messages you send via the support form (name, email, message).
3. Purposes
We process this data to: display nearby bars and cabinet leaderboards; record and rank scores; prevent abuse (rate limits, implausible-score checks); answer support requests; keep the service available and secure; and comply with legal obligations.
4. Legal bases (GDPR)
Processing is based on: performance of the service you request (Art. 6(1)(b)) for scores, pseudos, device_id and nearby-bar queries; our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) in securing the platform and preventing fraud/spam; and your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) where the browser asks for geolocation access — you can refuse or revoke it in your device settings.
5. Retention
Scores and related identifiers are kept for as long as they are needed for leaderboards and the operation of the service, unless you ask for erasure and no legal retention applies. Support messages are kept only as long as needed to handle your request. Server logs are rotated on a short rolling basis.
6. Recipients and processors
Data is hosted on our infrastructure providers (including Clever Cloud for application hosting and MySQL). Support emails are sent through Brevo (Sendinblue). We do not sell your personal data. Processors act only on our instructions and under appropriate agreements.
7. Cookies and similar storage
We use a locale cookie (locale) to remember your language choice. It is necessary for the service to display the correct language and is not used for advertising. The map may rely on third-party map tiles (e.g. OpenStreetMap / Leaflet providers) subject to their own terms.
8. Your rights
If you are in the EEA/UK, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection to processing based on legitimate interest. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority (in France: CNIL). To exercise your rights, contact us via /support.
9. Contact
Privacy and support requests: use the form at /support. We will respond within a reasonable time.
